This is a blog to document some of the experiments of DF7TV using the programmable crystal oscillator SI570 from Silicon Laboratories controlled by a PICAXE processor 28X1 from Revolution Education Ltd. The main components of the circuit "SRC11" are the SI570 DCO on a board made by David, WB6DHW, a PICAXE microprocessor 28X1, a Microchip I2C-EEPROM 24LC256(32kByte) and a (serially controlled) LCD.

The assembly and testing of the RXTXv6.2 - 20m/30m transceiver kit made by Tony, KB9YIG is the subject of this blog. Acquiring the needed informations, doing the inventory, populating the circuit board and testing of several sections of the circuit are described by DF7TV. The N2PK daughter board here replaces the original oscillator circuit of the RXTXv6.2 circuit board. This blog only reflects the way I built the kit.

This blog documents the assembly and the testing of a SoftRock RXTXv6.2 - 40m/30m kit by DF7TV from September to November 2007. Please note that it reflects only the way I built my kit -- for your own assembly you should follow the official "builder notes" provided by Tony, KB9YIG for your kit. There also is a related discussion group at yahoogroups called "softrock40".
